Dinkel Wheat Flakes ORG 400g
This cereal is known as Dinkel in Germany and in many other parts of the world as Spelt. In Greece, we call it olura or wild wheat.
By the end of the 21st century, Dinkel began to be cultivated again through organic farming, as it requires fewer fertilizers. However, this is not the only reason for the fame that this cereal has gained in our days.
Like all wheat species, Dinkel flour contains gluten. However, compared to its relatives, it is much more digestible. Its benefits do not stop there, as for several reasons, it has great nutritional value. Furthermore, this hard husk makes its cultivation more efficient and protects it from pollutants.
Compared to other grain species, its protein content is much higher. It is estimated that Dinkel contains 10% to 25% more protein compared to other wheat varieties. Of course, we are talking here about averages, as the content depends on the harvesting season and generally the environmental conditions in which it is grown.
Our flour or flakes offer us many vitamins and a high percentage of dietary fibers. Specifically, it contains iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, selenium, potassium, vitamin B6, and folic acid (B9). It is worth noting that Dinkel flour is highly soluble in water, so the nutrients are easily absorbed by the human body.
